In my PhD project, I investigate the differentiation trajectories in synovial sarcoma. Despite being genetically stable, this cancer is driven by an onco-fusion (SSX-SS18) which leads to an aberrant gene expression profile through disruption of the SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex. Using combined single cell RNA-seq and ATAC-seq and CRISPR editing on patient-derived organoid models, I aim to exploit epigenetic leads for the discovery of less toxic and more effective therapy.

Outside the lab, I enjoy board games, Dungeons & Dragons, knitting & crocheting, while my favourite way of staying active is pole sports.
